Easel Card

This week at Sweet Stamps we have an Easel card challenge. Be sure to check out the blog to see all the great cards that the Design Team and others that have entered, have made!  Anyone can enter,
but if you use a Sweet Stamps rubber stamp you get two entries into the challenge for a chance  to win a $20 shopping spree.
Check the Sweet Stamps blog for details.

This is the first time I had ever made an easel card. It was very simple.
You can find a pattern here:

I used the paper parchment craft technique on vellum. First I stamped the medallion in white ink on the vellum. Then I dry embossed it from the back. This process turns the vellum white. I gently shaded some areas to make a soft white around the edges using a large embossing tool. Popped out a few sections with the single needle tool and added a few more needle pierces here and there. I colored the medallion (from the back) with marker. I trimmed out the medallion and mounted it on a dark green with sticky dots. The dots will show through so put them under an embossed or colored area.
